Russell Potter, from our Purchasing Department, was named our newest COE Warrior. He was awarded the helmet due to his teamwork and doing what needs to be done, regardless of his job description. Russell has helped install multiple products around the office and has even saved the day when it came to a co-worker’s flat tire. We appreciate having team members at the company who embody our core values. Continue reading below to see what Russell had to say about this honor.
What does winning the warrior helmet mean to you?
It means a great deal to me, knowing that your co-workers appreciate what you do; it makes a world of difference.
What did you or what do you look for when it comes to choosing the next recipient?
I look for someone who goes above and beyond what they are supposed to do to make the company stronger and more efficient.
How has COE helped you to get where you are?
COE has helped me by teaching me that employees are a company’s largest asset. Without loyal A-Players, a company cannot grow.
What goals do you want to achieve and how can COE help get you there?
My eventual goal is to be a manager or own my own business one day. COE is helping me with programs such as the Rising Star, book clubs, and continued challenges.
What is your favorite part of our employee engagement programs at COE and why?
I really like the Penguin’s Partnership. It is a unique program that you can’t get anywhere else, and it gives access to so much more than just the Penguin’s logo.
What are you most excited for when it comes to our Penguin partnership?
I am excited for the Penguin’s locker room tour and the deck hockey game.
What COE value do you think you’re the strongest in and why?
I think I am strongest in the teamwork core value. I always find it easier to accomplish something when you have a group of people you can count on.
Share some fun facts about yourself!
In my spare time, I enjoy building furniture. I have built things such as picture frames, shelves, desks, tables, and even a wardrobe! I also enjoy fishing and do so all the time. I usually travel to Erie, PA several times a year to fish for species such as Small Mouth Bass, Walleye and Steelhead.
