What does winning the warrior helmet mean to you?

It always feels great when someone recognizes and acknowledges your hard work. To know your dedication doesn’t go unnoticed feels amazing.

What did you or what do you look for when it comes to choosing the next recipient?

Someone who shows up every single day ready to work and put forth their best effort.

How has COE helped you to get where you are?

COE has believed in me and invested in me throughout my 5 ½ years. They have shown me support both professionally and personally, encouraged me when I have questioned myself, and provided me with training opportunities, especially The Rising Star program, to better myself and help me grow.

What goals do you want to achieve and how can COE help get you there?

My overall goal is to be the best possible version of myself that I can be. I feel that COE helps me achieve that goal by challenging me daily and providing me with new and exciting opportunities.

What is your favorite part of our employee engagement programs at COE and why?

The openness that they provide between the Executive Team, upper management, and employees. To be able to participate in training and book clubs with upper management is an awesome opportunity.

What are you most excited for when it comes to our Penguin partnership?

Definitely the perks, such as tickets to the games 😊

What COE value do you think you’re the strongest in and why?

Respect. I believe in showing everyone respect.

What does winning the warrior helmet mean to you?

It’s already a great honor to be recognized for the work you do, but I believe it’s an even greater honor when that recognition comes from a colleague.

What did you or what do you look for when it comes to choosing the next recipient?

I chose someone that I feel doesn’t get “seen” very often, but still embodies our core values even when nobody is watching.

How has COE helped you to get where you are?

I have always been a follower and kind of a wallflower my whole life, and I firmly believe COE and my work family have helped me come out of my shell. I am so much less inclined to back down when presented with a challenge than I was before starting here. I’m truly grateful to work for a place that inspires me personally.

What goals do you want to achieve and how can COE help get you there?

I want to continue to learn more skills that will help me do my job better. I feel COE is a great place for that because I am presented with so many opportunities for operational growth, and surrounded by so many great coworkers that are looking to succeed as well.

What is your favorite part of our employee engagement programs at COE and why?

I love that COE makes us feel like a huge family through the engagement programs. It’s not like that at a lot of other places, and I am grateful to work for a company that really cares about its employees.

What are you most excited for when it comes to our Penguin partnership?

What’s not to love about the Penguins?? Jokes aside, I think it’s incredibly cool that we are the first company to partner with the Penguins for something like this. They are a world class organization, and I really feel it says a lot about COE that they chose to partner with us.

What COE value do you think you’re the strongest in and why?

I think I’m strongest in teamwork. I am always ready and willing to jump in the deep end to help the team, no matter how big or small the task is.

Share some fun facts about yourself!

I studied for a semester in England, and celebrated my 21st birthday there. I was a competitive bowler and shooter as a teen, and I’ve won awards for both.

Kara Lynzee Brooks, our Operations Support Supervisor in Charlotte, was named our newest COE Warrior. Mike Foray passed the helmet off to her stating that it was an easy decision because Kara is a vital part of the team and operation. Fun Facts about Kara!

I just got married on 8-28-20. I love animals I played volleyball at Western Carolina University. I went to my 1st FSU football game at 6 weeks old. I bleed Garnet & Gold!

What does winning the warrior helmet mean to you?

It is such an honor to receive the Warrior Helmet! It is really nice to be recognized and appreciated for the work you do. I think this is such a cool way of recognizing employees within the company.

What did you or what do you look for when it comes to choosing the next recipient?

I am looking to hand the helmet off to someone who really follows our core values. We have a company full of great employees – it is going to be difficult to choose!

How has COE helped you to get where you are?

I have never worked for a company like COE before. I really appreciate all of the things that JD and the Executive Team do for all of us to make us feel like a part of the family. I especially like the book clubs and learned a lot from our Q2 Financial Wellness sessions. I was really able to take the things that I had learned and apply it not only to my work, but my personal life.

4. What goals do you want to achieve and how can COE help get you there?
Personal and operational growth.
I really want to be able to continue to grow within the company. I have learned a lot from our book clubs. They have pushed me to think outside the box and given me tools to use so I can continue to improve.

What is your favorite part of our employee engagement programs at COE and why?

I really like getting to know all the employees from PA and TX better!

 What are you most excited for when it comes to our Penguin partnership?

I think that it is awesome to have this partnership with the Penguins. Being from Florida, I was never really into hockey, but I had such a blast last year at the game. Now I am even watching hockey on TV!

What COE value do you think you’re the strongest in and why?

I think my strongest value is transparency. I know that our team in PA and TX count on me to get them the correct information in a timely manner. My goal is always to get them what they need so we can better serve our customers!

I am always pushed to be my best.

What goals do you want to achieve and how can COE help get you there?

Personal and operational growth. My goal every day I come to work is to make COE better, and I ask my staff to do the same. Being able to continue to work during this pandemic has been a tremendous relief for me and my family.

Just the fact that COE has them. Not many companies put so much effort into helping and growing their employees.

What are you most excited for when it comes to our Penguin partnership?

Being able to engage with a world class organization and trade ideas, philosophies and core values is a huge advantage.

What COE value do you think you’re the strongest in and why?

I strive to live them all every day, but sometimes we as individuals fall short. I believe the most in TEAMWORK! Although we all have titles, they all go away when its time to get the job done and satisfy our customers. We help each other and support each other.

I’m a pretty big gambler and love all sports. I go to as many sporting events as I can! I love music! I don’t have any rhythm, so I just enjoy listening.

This means a lot to me, especially because I received the award from a colleague. It makes everything I do worthwhile!

What did you or what do you look for when it comes to choosing the next recipient?

Someone who gives 110 percent every day and goes out of their way to make sure the customers’ needs are met!

COE is one of the best companies I have ever worked for! They genuinely care about you and don’t treat you like just a number! That goes a long way!

What goals do you want to achieve and how can COE help get you there?

I want to be the best at what I do at work and in my personal life! I strive for perfection and am always looking for ways to improve!

COE is a family, and everyone appreciates each other. It’s just a great place to work. Coming together as one during these programs just shows the values the company represents.

What are you most excited for when it comes to our Penguin partnership?

Who doesn’t love a good hockey game? But really, the Penguins and COE have the same values, and it shows in the running of their daily businesses.

This is a tough question. I try to live by all of these values on a daily basis. However, customer service has to be number one. Without our customers, where are we?
